Each year, the Driffield Show draws thousands of visitors, exhibitors and competitors for a day packed with high quality livestock classes, equine competitions, machinery and rural showcases. Set in Springwood Park near the historic market town of Kelso, the Border Union Show stands out as one of the key rural events in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Held on the final Friday and Saturday of July, this long standing agricultural show brings together competition, tradition, food, shopping, and entertainment in one lively setting. With hundreds of classes for horses, livestock, and industrial arts, alongside more than 200 trade stands, a popular Food Fair, and live cookery demonstrations, the event offers something for every kind of visitor. From family attractions and fairground fun to local produce and a warm Borders welcome, it promises a memorable day out. Turriff Show, is the biggest two-day agricultural show in Scotland, attracting around 24,000 people, including those involved in farming as well as many non-farming people who enjoy the show for its wide array of activities. The show has been held in the north-east town since 1864 and was originally held on a Tuesday to coincide with the Turriff “mart day”. Today, the show awards over £85,000 in prize money and over 330 trophies. The show’s 1,554 classes range from the best cattle, sheep and horses, through to working dogs, poultry and vintage vehicles. The East Kent Ploughing Match is an annual event that has been running for more than 80 years. Attracting thousands of visitors each year, the event not only draws tough competition between modern, old and horse drawn ploughs, but is a fantastic outing and educational opportunity. Alongside the competitions, the event offers a diverse program of trade stands, local products and rural activities, creating an engaging day out for both industry professionals and the wider public.
