Tim Rethus is a grain grower based in Horsham, Australia, where he runs Rethus Broadacre alongside his father and brother. Together, they represent the third generation of farmers in the area, growing a variety of rain fed crops. The team also includes three full time employees, with clearly defined roles. Tim’s brother specialises in seeding, Tim manages all the spraying, and during harvest he teams up with his father to get the job done.
Efficiency is key
For the Rethus family, operational efficiency was a key consideration when choosing a new sprayer. “The Agrifac Endurance is delivering around 40% more hectares per tank than our previous sprayer, thanks to its larger tank capacity. It is also much wider. We are running about 30% more boom width, which means we are now operating 80% more efficiently. We are getting 80% more done per hour with this unit than before!” Tim explains.

Ready for the future of farming
Their Endurance 2 is equipped with the latest in spraying technology, positioning the Rethus family at the forefront of precision agriculture. Their machine features AiCPlus individual camera spot spraying technology and StrictSprayPlus, the PWFM system, giving them the tools to spray smarter and more efficiently. This year, PWFM turn compensation has proven especially effective, particularly when paired with the AiCPlus system.
A 750 litre rinse tank, fully controllable from the cab, allows the team to efficiently perform green on brown applications, saving thousands of litres of glyphosate. These targeted capabilities have led to substantial cost savings, and with in crop spraying now fully optimised, the team is focusing more on in crop weed spraying, reducing chemical use and avoiding off target application.
